Terms of Service

By accessing or using HOTAS Helper™ ("the app", "the service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Description of Service

HOTAS Helper™ is a web-based tool that allows users to upload game binding files and visualize their control mappings on 3D representations of flight peripherals. The service is provided free of charge.

2. User Accounts

You may use the app without an account. Logging in via Discord enables additional features such as persistent binding storage and layout customization. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Discord account. We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorized use of your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload files that contain malicious code, malware, or content unrelated to game bindings
• Attempt to access, modify, or interfere with other users' data
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the service in a manner that degrades performance for other users
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the application
• Reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works of the app's original content without written permission
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another user
• Submit fraudulent or abusive bug reports or feature requests

4. User Content

"User Content" refers to binding files you upload, bug reports you submit, and any other content you provide to the service.

• You retain ownership of the binding files you upload.
• By uploading content, you grant HOTAS Helper™ a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, and display that content as necessary to provide the service.
• Bug reports and feature requests may be used internally and shared with the development team to improve the app. Diagnostic data included in bug reports is used solely for troubleshooting.

5. Intellectual Property

HOTAS Helper™, including its name, logo, user interface, source code, button mapping database, and binding file parser, is the intellectual property of HotasHelper.com. Unauthorized reproduction, modification, or distribution is prohibited. See our Legal & Disclaimer page for full details.

6. Third-Party Content

The app references product names from third-party manufacturers (including but not limited to Cloud Imperium Games, VKBsim, Virpil, Thrustmaster, WinWing, and Logitech) solely for identification and compatibility purposes. These names are the property of their respective owners. See our Legal & Disclaimer page for full trademark attributions.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee:

• The accuracy or completeness of binding mappings or action labels
• That 3D model representations will exactly match physical hardware
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the service
• Compatibility with all binding file formats, devices, or game versions

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HotasHelper.com and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damage to equipment.

9. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the service at our discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the service.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
